Business advice from a tarot reading
The king of Wealth, money, status, position in society, hard work
I find the Tarot gives very good advice re work, business, career. When I see the King of Pentacles I immediately think someone who is in business, who’s successful at making money, understands how the world works in terms of our institutions, money, status, society, banks, property, manufacturing, education, health, finance …how it all fits together; the established world order if you like. They are savvy and hard working in the pursuit of business success for the good things of life and place in society.
At his best this King works hard to build a profitable business and make money ultimately for the good things of life to provide for his family. At his least best, he might make money and all things money buys including status, position in society his priority. He is happy to live alongside institutions like banks and tow the financial line of sales, growth, profit, the markets etc….so a bit bourgeois perhaps, designer labels matter.
I recognise that in myself. I am very motivated by money. Not so much designer labels, rather the reverse, but I do like making money and the freedom it gives me to buy a brand new pair of Roger Federer tennis shoes which I did yesterday! So as I looked at the card the thought crossed my mind, positive or negative? There’s a balance and the six of pentacles speaks to that, the balance of give and take, the card of karma, of what we give so we receive, of reciprocity, of being charitable, of a fair exchange of goods and energy.
Pentacles is about energy in its practical, tangible, solid form. Money is the physical exchange, used to be coinage, we use to run the world. Pentacles also expresses physical energy of the body and our health.
Quite unlike swords - the mind/air element/will, cups - water element/emotions, wands -fire element / inspiration/creativity, which are less tangible, less solid, 3 D, although fire is very real as is passion! Pentacles reflect the practicalities of life, the building blocks of day to day material life.
I pulled it today, in answer to a query about health and wellbeing (if you can believe it)…..pulling the king of pentacles said to me. Get on with business. Or did it say the cause of because of business???
The seven of wands is a time to get up on higher ground in order to tackle things one at a time and get a bit feisty about defending your position
I then pulled the seven of wands for clarification which says, look you’ve achieved a lot, this is the moment to get feisty and not allow yourself to be overwhelmed. Get onto higher ground and decide what matters and then do things one at a time. Delegate if you need to. Protect your interests and have the courage of your convictions.
If I follow the courage of my convictions I’d like to start posting on Instagram again and include energy medicine tips in order to speak of other ways besides having a tarot reading that free up and unblock our energy so we get back into the flow. I do think having a tarot has health benefits! Anything that releases worry doubt and anxiety has got to be good for our energy! I often pull a daily reflection card exactly for this reason when I’m feeling m’fungled (confused), however I don’t miss a day doing the energy medicine exercises I have learned get my energy flowing in the ‘right direction’.
Re the 7 of pentacles, a priority for me is establishing a strong grounding/protection practice at the start and clearing/regrounding at the end of each reading. Everyone ‘should’ in my opinion because we all engage with and take on so much energy from people, tech, socials, bad traffic, the news…which we need to shake off at the end of the day, at the very least! I know when I’ve taken on someone’s energy during a tarot reading, I dream about them and wake up with another take on their reading which I feel the need to urgently impart. I worry about them. Dear dear, I’ve got to be more professional, King of Pentacles. Still the 7 of pentacles reminds me, now’s the time to prioritise what’s important and get a bit feisty and do things one at a time in order to keep from getting overwhelmed.
Besides insta, I really want to write a monthly newsletter and offer more group tarot events as I enjoy reading for groups so much!
No wonder I got the 7 of wands along with the King of P.
