Keep up the good habits!

What I heard Lee Harris say…and Pam Gregory to some extent….and definitely Katie Brindle

Tidy up, clear up, chuck out, let go …of what no longer serves, the clutter in your house, your life, your mind, clear clear clear the debris for a new you to emerge next Spring!

I quite l like the timeline, no panic, just start and maintain tidying up your life in anticipation of a rather tempting invitation of a new me, even if I have no idea what this new me might be or even wants but I like the idea of dumping old baggage, clearing the cupboards and giving myself space for such a possibility!).  It makes sense.

What I also like is apparently September is a good month for letting go of habits that don’t serve.  There’s something in the energy of the month…I need to learn more about astrology as I have noticed this to be very true.  I set out on the 1st September after my ‘how to step over the threshold from summer to autumn tarot reading’ (see blogs of 1st September and 6th) which was quite severe about needing to address faults in my very foundations!  The reading said stop looking back over spilled milk, surrender, sacrifice, let go… short term pain for long term gain, face up to and no longer avoid what is stressing me out.  I knew perfectly well what needed addressing.  A certain day to day habit (let’s leave it like that) in order to establish firm foundations from which to build and flourish.  It was a harsh but invaluable reading as it turned out and taught me a few lessons.

One negativity in a tarot reading is not bad.  Not only might it bring truth, it might galvanise one/me into action.   And it did. I did, and have continued, said action (which involves letting go) is holding

What I didn’t know and what has excited me is how easy it has been.   And what I have learned is that there is a reason we are encouraged to clear cupboards in the autumn.  Just as Nature drops her leaves, dies back and lets go in the Fall so this season’s energy supports us to do the same. I should add, spurred on by Pam Gregory I have resumed my get out into the park, onto the beach practice first thing on waking (with a cup of coffee) and commune with nature. Listen and Pause for clarity. And I think it has helped me get in sync with her and feel supported. I seem to return feeling centred and happy to be me. Two get out into Nature.

I asked the tarot for a card to start me off on the subject for an autumn newsletter.   And I got the 8 of pentacles.

Keep practising skills that will build inner Strength to express our true self

Boring I thought when I first read it.  ‘Keep working away’ is the gist of the 8 of pentacles. I wanted to do something more dynamic and exciting for my first newsletter since January 1st! And so I pulled a Clarifying card and got Strength.  A bit more inspiring. So it might be worth paying attention to the boring stuff.  And as I write I am m discovering the 8 of pentacles had a lot to say for itself.

The basic message is…Keep working away at ‘Yourself’.   Whatever it is you think needs doing, keep doing it, keep ‘perfecting’.  Wherever you feel the need to hone your skills, keep honing.  We might call is the ‘cultivate self care’ card. …because whatever you need to be taking care of, we are being encouraged to keep up a steady practice, do the boring stuff ….. for the promise of Strength.

The new you!  To become a pure expression of your true nature having tamed the Ego.  The Ego who desires fame fortune pleasure sex drugs and rock n roll….whichever aspect applies…..and instead come from a place of true inner strength. To be fully yourself. And be able to express this self out into the world and be received and heard.

Bring it on!
