Regaining a sense of youthful enthusiasm with a tarot reading
The page of cups is my reflection card for the day.
He seeks romantic ideals….
He immediately makes me think, romantic, wears his heart on his sleeve, idealistic, perhaps emotionally a bit immature…..a dreamer, a poet, an artist, creativity.
He holds a cup with a fish looking at him, or trying to jump out I’m not sure which, or what this signifies, except fish swim in the sea, the sea of emotions and indeed behind him the sea does look quite wavy. Perhaps he wants to get back in? Perhaps when you get this card in a tarot reading it is describing a feeling of wanting to swim in more of an emotional environment, the realm of youthful dreams. Perhaps it’s the first step, as pages represent stepping toward, your youthful self, a first step toward love.
He's dressed in the most marvellous tunic of sea blue adorned with water lilies, again a symbol surely of beauty blooming out of the mud.
Yesterday I did a reading for a young man who wanted to know whether there was a wife in his destiny and if not he would give his full energy to his spiritual life and he had the page of cups to represent his future self, with other cards to support the page of cups, it felt as if he was being encouraged in the notion of romantic love to a woman that would end in marriage. And indeed I was pondering the reading and his choice before I pulled the card, love or the spiritual life and perhaps celibacy?….and decided the reading was referring to romantic physical love and marriage…..and then pulled the Page of Cups. Which seemed to endorse it!
Of course the whole point of pulling a reflection card is to see what it means to You, where the card takes your thoughts, how your instincts respond, and of course it is totally personal and individual, there is no ONE meaning, there is only how it affects us.
this is the stressy card, over thinking, worrying and feeling anxious as a consequence!
I had been thinking also (before I pulled the card) how tired I am tired of my over thinking, over analysing, tired of the repetitious inner dialogue, so dull, and far too swordy (see 9 of swords above),in my head, and critical! The page of cups is so different. His head is full of dreams, possibility, expectancy, idealism, romanticism, creativity….which reminded me I started a new painting yesterday which I so enjoyed, dashing it off as had so little time. Was so surprised by the result of painting free and quickly, splashing, well more being bold with strokes of colour. It was such fun. I definitely think the page of cups enjoys painting, although he may be a bit of a amateur!
This is the painting that inspired me, delicious colours and sweeps of the brush by Emma Haggas!
Altogether I have found lots to reflect on and by inspired by this morning. Long Live Tarot!
Do come and have a reading with me in Battersea or online. It works just as well I find. If if you do come for a reading, don’t expect me to tell you what is going to happen in your life, instead expect to gain some clarity and be encouraged by the potential ahead, and guidance offered, to feel motivated to take action and create the future you want. Sorta.
