Celebrating life with Tarot
You almost wouldn’t believe it!
I asked for a card to describe a moment I had on my first morning on holiday as I sat on the terrace looking at the view.
Would I receive the Empress – Aundance, Fedundity, Generosity
Perhaps the World – Completion, a moment of perfection
Perhaps the Four of Swords – Taking time out to tune into and align the soul
And I picked the three of cups. Celebration, Connection, Engagement. The card shows three women dancing in a circle holding up cups, and always reminds me of girls hanging out with a few glasses of wine having fun, and has come to symbolise the easy warmth of friendship welcome and enjoyment. Engaging with Life fully.
See the three of cups in the middle of this spread, The Three Graces celebrating life and friendship…..
Cups also suggests pleasure to me. Cups of wine, cups of love, cups of sharing feelings, and sharing feelings and enjoyment. In a tarot reading it can literally suggest an Engagement of marriage. Certainly writing this on the last day of my holiday, it has epitomised pleasure, friendship, enjoyment, celebration.
I wrote this in my journal on the first morning sitting on a terrace drinking a cup of coffee.
Writing from the terrace….
Casa Mallorca
It’s in the soft sheen of terracotta tiles
The curve of classic balustrade
Where the stone buddha sits watching us
Hands folded quietly in his lap
A gentle smile on his lips
And beyond a valley of cypress and pine
Cedar perhaps and olive trees
Standing stock still amid the hum of cicadas starting up in the cool of early morning.
Cockerels crow good morning
across the valley their calls echo
chickens ?
a tiny sparrow flits to another branch
as I sit
Enfolded in the growing blanket of sound
Lulled into peace. Presence. Present.
And notice another layer
Pigeons cooing like doves even present in the background
a fly does a fly pass bzzzz
And now a wasp has joined the scene
Nothing moves, not a stir in the air
Yet everything alive
Unseen hundreds offer hypnotic surround sound
Insects start to dance in sunbeams as the day hots up/starts to heat up.
Then a branch ladened with pine cones stirs, the breeze has returned
The Buddha smiles.
The Buddha smiles…..
Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. Having a reading has a way of connecting to what’s going on and the potential therein that celebrates life.
