Tarot for Monday morning

Monday morning instructions!

Today I pulled the five of wands as my reflection/advice/guidance/lens through which to view the day/perspective on things/card…..in my case I was specifically bearing in mind my approach to ‘health’.

the five of wands

Conflict, clash of egos, will you stand up for what you believe?

Ha! No escape….the five of wands does not tell you to trust that healing is happening, or that you need to rest, or that you are making steady progress, no it says there’s conflict, challenge, and perhaps a clash of egos…‘you need to compete for your health!’…..

I knew exactly what it meant.   I/me/Sue was going to have to get fired up about what I believed and fight for it……and yes the card cleverly reflects an aspect of conflict, I want to do x and I know I should be doing y.  The clash of egos is between mine!

The five of wands it reflects a moment when things are fired up (five people are waving wands at each other!). Whenever I see it I feel we are being asked to harness our fighting spirit and stand up for what we believe in.  Even if it might cause a distrubance.  The good news is, if you compete you succeed

When this card appears in a reading, it can of course represent arguments with others…..and our job is to be discerning, as there does seem to be some posturing of egos in this card, and pay attention to what is important and what isn’t.  Sometimes we need a little challenge to know what matters to us, that challenges the status quo, and perhaps forces us out of our comfort zone, and if others are involved, realise the clash of egos at play.  Either way we still have to find a way to stand up for ourselves.

queen of pentacles

The Queen who nurtures, the ‘Earth Mother’, grounded practical and

Even though I knew exactly what was being asking of me, I thought ok Tarot give me a clarifying card and I picked the Queen of Pentacles.   The Queen of Hearth and Home is how I first labelled this Queen’s qualities.  The way this Queen shows her love, as all Queen’s are ‘mother’s, is by being wonderfully grounded practical and caring.  She has that earth mother quality, a lover of harmony and beauty.  I imagine if she were my mother there would be delicious healthy food on the table, the home would be tidy and harmonious, a bunch of wild flowers she had picked would be on the table.  I can almost smell the apple pie.  I joke but what I do feel about the Queen of Pentacles is a sense of her open invitation to nurture, to take care of practical needs, who brings a sense of stability, safety and security. With the basics taken care of those in her care can flourish and this is the great value she brings.

Equally this is someone who is very good at business, finances, managing people and projects.  She knows what is needed to give situations/people/projects the practical foundation and organisation they need to flourish, and therefore needs to be well valued!  And that means financially too. This Queen is often the working parent and primary breakwinner. She works hard and is generous with material success. Resourceful, down to earth, she is the nurturing mother who understands the material world and appreciates its pleasures.

Do come and have a tarot reading with me on line or in Battersea to find the support you need to flourish.
