The Ace of Swords is one of the most activating cards in Tarot
The Ace of Swords
Hold up your sword of truth and decide. Cut through negativity hesitation fear. Set your mind to it. Take action
I often say the Ace of Swords is the most activating card in the Tarot deck. It’s the moment we decide, make our decision, set our mind to what we want, desire, ‘what needs doing’….take action. A good reason to develop a Monday morning tarot practice to see what needs our focus.
The ace of swords can refer to a decision that’s quite straightforward. It reinforces the idea that a decision must be made because as long as it isn’t we loiter in indecision, doubt, vagueness, inaction.
When I picked if for my daily reflection card a couple of days, I was thinking about a. driving back to London for a game of tennis? And b. whether I should be ‘upping my game’ and put my price up?
It seemed like a call to action for me, I did drive back to London and put my prices up.
Two days later, it felt that a good decision.
As crazy as driving back for the game a tennis sounded, I needed to physically jump around, get excited, be challenged, have a laugh, run around in the sunshine, and do something I love, play social tennis at Battersea park on a Friday morning. I can’t just be suebtarot reader, considerate, insightful, writer, in service to …I needed a bit of fire and freedom and fun! A revelation although it shouldn’t be, after all when I became the head of comedy at red rooster tv it was in my contract, tennis Monday morning 10 -12 and Fridays. I’m not sure it was actually in my contract but it was understood. Playing tennis was fun and essential to my mental health. And that was 25 years ago!
b. it feels scary….’upping my game’….I was quite relieved when I received two new bookings for tarot readings the very next day. Am I worth it? For £80 I’ll make sure I am!
Which brings me to the broader subject of setting your mind to what your instincts are telling you to do. And especially setting your mind to what you love should be a priority in life. It makes you feel alive!
Do come and have a tarot reading with me online or in person in Battersea. It feels so good having made a decision. Two decisions. Three if you count, sitting looking at the sea listening to BB King play ‘Lucille’ while WRITING this.
