the Pyramid tarot reading
The Pyramid Tarot Reading
It’s a long time since I tried the Pyramid spread. It is one my teacher (I still call her that after 20 years!) often does alongside the Celtic cross when she’s doing a full general reading. The Celtic Cross is more of a timeline reading whereas the Pyramid addresses one issue.
Specifically the Pyramid gives you a reading based on a question posed on your behalf by the Tarot..
Cards are laid down from left to right, four cards at the bottom/first tier of pyramid, then 3, then 2, probable outcome or where its heading at the time is the card at the top.
It’s been ages and so I asked for it in class last week. Here it is…
read this spread from the bottom right to left……
1. The Question – page of cups - dreamer, idealistic, wears his heart on his sleeve, youth, playful
2. The essence – justice – set up properly
3. Logic – 2 of cups - an emotional choice to connect to something you love
4. Heart – 6 of cups – moving forward by referring to past to create the future, siblings, happy days, harmony
5 Price we have to pay – 8 of wands (how we see ourselves, role we 5 play/conditioning/denying yourself/losing your nerve)
6 Unhelpful influence – 4 of swords – thinking about it will not be helpful/don’t think about it too long
7 Unexpected – the hermit – according to your own values, beat of your own drum
8 Helpful – 9 of pentacles – extra ££, lucky extra
9 Best course of action – the fool - fearlessly face a new path
10 Where its leading – ace of cups – falling in love, emotional release, everything you’ve ever dreamed of having
I was very struck by receiving the Page of Cups as the Question as it is was my ‘support/what to harvest card’ in the Stepping over the threshold to new cycle reading I did beginning of September, see blog 6th sept.
To what does this page of cups refer? Is there some specific new creative urge to action? Or are we just talking about embracing the youthful, playful, spontaneous self, time to bring out the inner child? The page of cups is the poet, painter, romantic, idealist, wears his heart on his sleeve, waterlilies are on his tunic that suggest possible flowering from the depths of mud?
It's got me pondering…which is why have a tarot reading is so invaluable. With the 8 of swords and four of swords for the price to pay and the unhelpful influence in fulfilling the promise of the page of cups got me thinking about my tendency to overthink and perhaps loose my nerve…..think it’s not for me and get beyond my programme about Sue B. After all the helpful influence is the 9 of pentacles, which I always say is the lucky extra, good things come back to you because you deserve it, because of the ‘work’ you’ve put in in the past, the Unexpect being the Hermit, which doesn’t feel so unexpected to me as he’s my favourite card, the person with integrity who is able to follow the path that is for him, step by step following his own inner light.
The Fool, best course of action. Fearless facing the unknown with trust and enthusiasm and their faithfull dog beside him.
Wilf, a very playful lovable dog I look after quite often
Perhaps its time to get a dog.
That would make sense leading to my hearts desire, falling in love, heart opening!
We should have pulled a card on a dog!....two of cups logic, loving another, six of cups, remember the love of the past.
The six of cups also refers to childhood friendships, we could be talking about my sister also.
Hmm….haven’t exactly got any clarity….but quite a lot of insight about how to step forward into the day….especially as am looking after Solo, jack Russell so like Trumpet today
Solo snoozing in the sun today…it got up to 20 degrees!
Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. Online readings work surprisingly well!
Note to self, tarot readings don’t necessarily bring clarity right away, sometimes they open up our minds to new idea, make a few suggestions, which we ponder and after a day or so something comes into your mind and you go….that’s it, that’s what I want to do and take action. Never forget we create our future with every thought, deed, action, intention….hey ho. What fun!
