The Tower
The Tower was the first card I pulled in my ‘Navigating the Threshold spread’!
A sudden sharp shock that pulls the rug from under your feet is a very good description of how I felt looking at that card that represented my present situation ! OMG my mind instantly flew to what preconceived ideas are dodgy? What’s dodgy about the foundations of my thinking? Has the rug has been pulled from under me? preconceived ideas tossed in the air? A bolt of lightning bringing clarity (brutal)
I instantly could identify a few dodgy areas in my foundations!
Would the rest of the reading tell me more?
My first mind map of a tarot card! well the actual Tower says it all !
The edifice of your beliefs comes crashing down
The second card, representing a golden nugget harvested to be harvested ….The Page of Cups.
He wears his heart on his sleeve, is idealistic, romantic, naive, a poet, painter, youthful new idea, creative instinct….dreamer.
My first thought was how is something as youthful and dreamy as the page of cups going to help counter this situation? I always associate immaturity, playfulness, the inner child with this card. Especially given the rather gloomy nature of most of the other cards (until thank goodness I come to the three of pentacles, which ironically represents building firm foundations on which to grow and flourish! ) I hope!

How to step across the threshold to a brand new cycle tarot spread…..
How might this page of cups help me harvest the good out of this situation? The page of cups speaks of new emotional beginnings, intuitive messages, creative inspiration and urges us to be open to new ideas and to keep our heart open and be hopeful.
what’s the fish trying to tell the page of cups?
I tell you one thing. Slightly inspired by the Page of cups who I always see as being playful and creative…I decided to do a mind map of the Tower, see above, it was fun to do, i’ve often thought of trying it, I’ve always like the idea of thought bubbles and cartoon pictures for telling stories. Perhaps there’s the beginning of a creative idea that will renew my love for tarot (a dodgy area I feel need addressing) as well as spending more time painting (2nd dodgy area) !
The tarot spread is designed to help us step over the Threshold from summer to autumn and to embrace the potential the start of a whole new year/season/cycle.
The Tower - where I am, present situation, right now
The Page of cups - what supports, what golden nugget has been harvested, can be harvested
The three of Cups - what to let go of.
The Hanged Man - what to embrace
The Six of Swords - unforeseen helpful influence
The Nine of Swords - best course of action, best way to step over threshold into the new year
three of pentacles - where it will lead.
I took a picture of this flower this morning as a message of possibility…
Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. Let’s try this tarot reading spread as it’s been revelatory for me! part 2 tomorrow as this blog is quite long enough.
