What does the two of Cups signify in a tarot reading?

The two of cups reminds to us to choose to ‘fall in love’, to share our heart in all its beauty, pain and fragility and connect deeply with someone or something you love.

In the card we see two people of the same size holding out cups to each other also of the same size, which reflects a partnership where there is an equality of sharing.  A relationship based in trust and union,  a soul mate relationship that is based in the combination of forces in openness and friendship.

The two of cups may not be about connection to another person it may speak to a deep connection to something else, our job, a hobby, our pet, our sense of connection whether it be a passion for music or the sea, or our spiritual practice. We are reminded how when we unconditionally love something it feeds us in return.  What we give we receive, what we sow we reap.  It is a card that speaks to the generosity and openness necessary for such an exchange to happen and how the Universe responds to what is in our heart. Therein lies the beautiful exchange offered within the two of cups.

So what does it take to risk falling in love? Plenty.

First it is a choice, number 2 in the cup suit.  All 2’s in the Tarot signify choice. A choice to connect with an open heart. Not easy when we have been through heartbreak or betrayal, but the gentleness of the image on this card assures us it will be worth it and encourages us to soften, to leave our wounds behind, along with our projections (easy to say), and any defensiveness (boundaries always) but ready to trust in the connection of fair exchange and choose love.

Do have a tarot reading with me online via whatsapp, zoom or teams.   We have become so good at connecting online, enabling the readings to be just powerful. Rather like the two of cups when two people come together in a fully heartfelt way the tarot cards respond by giving the insight and support needed. Clearly the influence of two of Cups is at hand
