How does the Tarot do it??
You are not going to believe this reading….
It sounds so implausible that one either has to believe in the Tarot’s powers of divination or in the power of our own imagination. Imagination in the sense of the creativity of the human brain to interpret a tarot card in a way that makes perfect sense and describes the situation as it transpires.
…did the cards trigger what happened… and if so, it turned out they gave brilliant advice….did they nudge me in a direction I might not have taken (as I am a serious wimp and procrastinator in difficult situations), or is this another incident when the tarot just confirms my belief in the magical interplay of life?
Here’s what happened.
I decided to pull a card, the morning of going on holiday….
I was drawn to first one and then another, both cards were slightly protruding…I chose the latter.
It was the queen of swords. Hmm the Queen of Swords represents someone who is able to make difficult decisions and is able to bring detached, logical, strategic thinking to a situation, and if necessary be a bit tough…..(she is sometimes known as the Queen of Sorrow in that she has learned this skill because she has been hurt in the past and learned to protect her heart by being able to detach and bring her intellect to the situation)
What did the Queen of Swords mean for me? I needed some clarification…and pulled the card next to it
The Four of cups. You don’t like what you are being offered…..but don’t miss an opportunity…
Still somewhat mystified i decided to pull the card I first liked the look of
Six of wands. Success, recognition, respect (for your talents/endeavours)
I did wonder that if I had pulled it first, the message I might have taken was, be a bit of a show off, not literally, but remember your innate talent and skills, respect and recognise them, be proud of yourself…. and vice versa of others…..which (if I had pulled it first) would be good advice going on holiday with people I don’t know well…as this card speaks of mutual respect and appreciation in relationships.
And this is what followed….
I found myself writing a firm but nice text (very queen of swords) saying because a machine I had bought wasn’t suitable, and because there was no opportunity to exchange it as going on holiday, I would like to return it for a full refund. With many thanks for all the effort and help (six of wands – mutual respect)
I got a response that said. Ok fine. Whatever will make you pleased. Success (also 6 of wands).
Was it the 4 of cups, the clarifying card to the queen of swords, that help me connect the Queen of Swords to the difficult situation of not liking a product I was being offered and also not to miss the opportunity to ….be the Queen of Swords….firm logical and decisive…..a refund please ….??
There’s something perfect in the synergy of the first two cards and their message, as for the final card?
Did the tarot know I would resort to pulling the first card I’d thought to pull, in an attempt to understand how I was supposed to read the first two?
Six of cups. Success . Mutual respect and recognition.
I have no idea I just know that in retrospect the Queen of Swords gave a perfect message for that moment. Ok you need to be detached, logical and perhaps tough even though you don’t want to/are afraid to…..
