how to describe a tarot reading?

I decided to pull three cards to see what the Tarot said ?

The first card I pulled was the Wheel of fortune

the Wheel of fortune

How we turn the wheel of fortune and fulfil our destiny…..

The Wheel of Fortune reflects the cycles of life, the seasons of the year and how the wheel of life is always turning, there is always CHANGE.

The wheel of fortune also includes the concepts of destiny and karma, what goes around comes around, and while we can’t control the weather (yet) and we can’t control life or Destiny we can be very conscious of the cycle of reciprocity and how we contribute and respond to life’s ups and downs.

And so very often having a tarot reading is a turning point.   And an opportunity to observe where we are on the Wheel and centre ourselves by accepting life’s ups and downs and jump starting, perhaps a slightly new direction or action to move the Wheel forward to affect a change in our Fortune.

The Second card I pulled was the Four of Wands.

two card spread

The Wheel of fortune is joined by the four of wands in this spread.

When I see the four of Wands I always think

Getting to a place where you feel supported and can thrive

We see a couple hand in hand coming from a village and before them is a garland of flowers that connects the four upright wands creating a harmonious home from to flourish.

I say flourish because wands, the element of fire, suggest not only creativity but our passion and individual talents being able to flourish.  We are able to flower.

At the same time there’s a feeling of community and support (the village behind the pair)

And a place of achievement created through hard work and collaboraton

Coming from the three of wands to the 4, you’ve broadened your horizons and expanded your skills and now have lit all four corners of the square creating the stability to achieve your goals.

Am always reminded of the Khahil Gibran poem on marriage especially the lines

But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of your be alone,
Even as the strings of the lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.

I asked for a card for my style of tarot reading and got the 8 of cups.

When we leave behind what no longer serves us to follow our passion.

Where we see a man who has come to a crossroads in his life.  He is leaving 8 cups standing, which always suggests to me that he is leaving behind what no longer serves him.  I always like to think that because the cups are standing, he has somehow come to an acceptance even if unresolved emotions remain, that it is time to move on and follow his passion (red cloak) turning his back on things that are unfulfilling and head on journey of self discovery, discovering what really sets him on fire and nourishes his spirit.  There’s often an awareness that he needs to set off in a slightly different direction, perhaps change some habits, a moment for self-development in order to grow and understand what will give him long lasting happiness.

It is a card that speaks of transition, Change, facing new challenges in order to grow, a new journey of self discovery that may be necessary for emotional fulfilment.

Do come to battersea for a tarot reading or online especially if you want to navigate life’s challenges with more confidence.
