Tarot for self-care

I’ve never been keen on the word self-care as it sounds like an indulgence, and perhaps a bit selfish BUT under the auspice of the flight attendant who insists we put on our own oxygen mask before trying to help anyone else……as without it we are no good to anyone….let alone ourselves! I realise Tarot has become my no 1 self care tool!

the hierophant

Teacher, Mentor, Conduit of wisdom…..the Hierophant connects to Purpose

Because it takes care of my mental health. Given that I do my exercises, walk in the park, go to pilates and qi gong pretty much daily for my physical health, a visit to my tarot cards always nourishes my spiritual health. The cards give me new perspective and connection in the sense of meeting me, reflecting back where I am, helping me understand myself and the situation I am in. And giving encouragement and a sense of purpose and direction, as I am a great one for pulling advice cards.

This Autumn I have decided to offer readings that re-align, re-connect, re-set and revive our sense of purpose and direction with the emphasis on ‘working with Tarot’ rather than Tarot telling you what to do as I have become more and more conscious that yes a tarot reading can bring insight, solve problems, answer questions et al what really matters is your take-away.

What did the reading mean to you? what direction did it set you in? what action did you take? what understanding landed.

How did it enhance your self awareness, your intuition, confidence.

the Hermit

The Hermit follows his own intuition on the path that is right for him/her

Did the reading make a difference. And the thing is, however good the reading, if action isn’t taken, then the chances are most of it fades away. Which is why I would like to work with my clients in a more conscious way. i.e. it is YOUR connection to the reading, to what is said, to YOUR response, your understanding that grounds the whole experience and enables something tangible to arise. Even if it is a smidgen more self awareness, understanding gives us options and freedom and thereby more possibility.

I may have delivered a good reading but if you don’t act on it……well it was enjoyable……entertainment. And I have no problem with seeing Tarot as entertainment, because it is fascinating and entertaining and extraordinary and great entertainment, which is why hen dos, birthday parties, even corporate events are so popular. They are fun. They are also team building if you are talking about an online corporate event, stimulating, they create conversation, laughter, surprise, delight, and revelatory, they are entertaining.

Tarot reading is brilliant in so many ways, especially as a mentor who helps you understanding yourself and your life better, who helps you build on your strength and weaknesses, who nourishes and supports with the right advice, and encourages us to be true to ourselves and our unique path in this life.

Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. It would be my pleasure
