What’s the meaning of the Ten of Swords?
10 of swords represents the big ‘let go’…..let go of control, yourself, and or others…
If you struggle you will bleed to death …….
including let go of your ‘identity’…..for a new dawn.
when you are in ten of swords territory things are beyond our control…..and indeed things are happening that (we probably don’t like) because they are out of your control
as we all know feeling ‘in control’ is a key aspect of being Ok to feeling happy…feeling secure
therein the demands of the 10 of swords
because if we have to let go of the security of our beliefs, what we think is right or wrong, then who are we meant to be? So much of our identity is comes from identifying what we believe, are, think, do et. eg.
my name is….
I am (job description) …
I believe (in magic, miracles, life is tough, you have to work/be successful/be right/do the right thing) then when the ten of swords comes up, you are in trouble!
I think……..therefore I am?
it was Nietzsche who is reputed to have said this and indeed many many years ago, I remember having this dawning realisation and thinking i’d discovered a major truth!
The idea that your thoughts and ideas make you who you are? Is somewhat limited…somewhat limits ……after all what happens to your soul, your intuition, your compassion, sense of humour, kindness, creativity, voice, dreams, dancing, although perhaps all those have labels you can attach (name) and therefore state as part of who you are via the decision of the brain
A Eureka moment, when a rainbow comes out and you think the universe is speaking to you!
